Book Reviews

I work in a scifi/fantasy bookstore, and try to review both the good and the bad of the new(ish) releases. If you've seen a book you'd like me to review, just drop a comment here and I'll try to get back to you.

Recent releases = extended reviews, full of insight and vitriol.

Chris Beckett: Marcher
Michael Chabon: The Yiddish Policeman's Union
William Gibson: Spook Country
M. John. Harrison: Nova Swing
Ian McDonald: Brasyl
Meg Mundell: Black Glass
Neal Stephenson: Anathem

30 Second Book Reviews = shorter reviews for older, well-trodden titles.

Clive Barker: Weaveworld
J.G. Ballard: The Crystal World
Stephen King: Misery

Movie Reviews: for when a book just isn't loud enough.
Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island
James Cameron's Avatar

Reviews of things that should not be reviewed.

I don't know if you review kindle books, but I would love to get you to read "e galactic mu." I think it's brilliant, but I'm biased. It's alternate earth sci-fi featuring nuisance unicorns and exploding sharks. We published it a couple weeks ago.
